What do you think?


  It's hard to know if you're doing the right thing if you don't get any feed-back. When I started this blog, as a complete noob, I intended posting my content, but thought thatI might need to supplement my accounts and essays with editorials. I realise now that I'm not actually 'editing' anything, so is there any worth calling additional [random] items 'Eds' , my shorthand?

 I could easily drop the 'Ed' and number sequence, it might look less clunky, but WHAT DO YOU THINK? I really wou;d like to have feedback from the readers: please comment or make suggestions; it's supposed to be more than a one-way outpouring!

  “Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it”.   – Ed Zern     The weather forecast was another day of scorchio, although this hot summer is expected to break in a couple of days’ time. We seem to visit Chiphall Lake about once each year, [episodes 6, 22, 25, 33, 45, & 52 refer]. Today, the Admiral, Inspector, Whytee and Dodgy proudly flew the FC banner, joined by the Professor a couple of hours late; three other chaps had braved the heat too. Martin was holding court on the lodge’s veranda, which is definitely a kind of community and family hub, with friends and relations always dropping by for a brew and a chat, mostly non-fishers.   The Wild Trout Trust auction is one way you can get onto first class fishing, and like today’s trip, it’s also how you can get yourself some prime time with an exceptionally knowledgeable guide! This particular Lot gave my buddy and I two day-rods on the River Yealm. This urgent, tumbling river drains off Dartmoor, and once formed into a proper river runs seven miles to the sea. A century ago it was a well-known Sea-trout and Salmon fishery, and although there still are silver visitors, most of the fishing is for truly wild Brown Trout, usually six to eight inches, with the odd bigger one turning up. I was guided by Geoff Stephens, while my buddy Brian was guided by Paul Kenyon, whose name may be familiar to you. The Continuing Adventures of the Fluff Club, Episode 5

The names of the Fluff Boys are disguised and the venues un-named, to protect the innocent! At the preceding tying evening seven of us put up hands for a breakfast start to the latest trip, and uncannily seven actually turned up. Are we making progress as a group or was this a fluke? Our organisational abilities and arithmetic seem to be on the up. Having fed and watered we assembled our gear and ambled off, enjoying this fine spring morning, listening to a brace of feuding Woodpeckers with their guns set to rapid fire, and some Chiffchaffs trying to make up for their lack of melody by turning the volume up to 11; the sun shone through in spells, and there was just a light breeze. Gorgeous. During the breakfast craic most had decided to elect for just 2-fish tickets, apart from two fool hardies who had each gone for a 4, yours truly being one.
